For 50 years, we've been
Opening the world
through education

EF Education First is the world's largest private educational institution. Founded in 1965, EF offers a range of educational programs, from language training and educational travel to academic degrees and cultural exchange. With more than 450 offices in 50 countries, and a mission to break down barriers in language, culture, and geography, EF has helped millions of people of all ages and nationalities become citizens of the world.

The EF Difference

We are proud to be the leader in high school exchange. From the day you decide to host a foreign exchange student, until their last memorable days in the U.S., EF is with you every step of the way.

Meet EF Staff

From our offices all over the world to EF’s main headquarters in Boston, MA, our dedicated staff provides outreach, screening and support to students, host families, schools and local coordinators. We’re there for all our program participants 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Dan | Boston, MA

Dan has been with EF since 2001. Working with the EF team in Boston and across the country (and the world), Dan has helped provide thousands of students and host families with the life-changing experience of high school exchange.

Support Team

Jen | Boston, MA

EF program counselors are always there to support students, host families, schools and volunteer coordinators throughout the year. And we mean always--that's 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

EF Student Admissions

Bastian | Berlin, Germany

Our teams in the students' home countries evaluate their English level and prepare them for the year ahead. During the exchange, EF staff abroad are also the point of contact for the students' own parents back home.

Host Family Match Team

Kate | Boston, MA

An amazing exchange year starts with the perfect match! Placement managers work with host families and local coordinators across the U.S. to help bring the right student into each home.

The Leader in High
School Exchange

EF High School Exchange Year has been promoting global awareness through student exchange for more than 30 years. We bring more students to the U.S. each year than any other high school exchange program, and since 1979 our organization has connected more than 100,000 international students with caring host families across America.
